Balçova Cable Car Maintenance Line Over, Re-Opening

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has completed periodic maintenance and improvement works in Balçova Cable Car Facilities, where 1.2 million passengers have been transported since its opening. The landscape of the facility, which will be put into service again tomorrow, was renewed, improvements and maintenance were made in the automation and electrical systems.

The maintenance work has been completed at the Balçova Cable Car Facilities, which was renewed in EU standards by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and put into service two years ago and has been visited by approximately 1.2 million people since then. All moving parts in the system were overhauled within the scope of the periodic maintenance work that had to be done once a year, and the parts that had to be changed within the scope of the instructions were renewed. Improvements and maintenance were made in automation and electrical systems. The cable car will meet with its visitors again from Tuesday, April 3.

Safety first
During the maintenance works, improvements were made to reduce noise and vibration in order to increase passenger comfort in the cabins. All parts that passengers contacted were cleaned by using special materials under the rules of hygiene. Within the scope of the works, the landscape of the facility was renewed.
