Babadağ Teleferik to Fly Regional Tourism

Fethiye's 30-year dream Babadağ Cable Car Project continues to the summit despite the snow and cold weather falling for months. The tender for Babadağ Cable Car Project was held on 3 April 2017 by the Fethiye Power Association (FGB) company within the Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTSO). Kırtur Limited Şirketi, which undertakes to give 2 percent of its annual earnings to the FGB company, won the tender, which is committed to paying 250 million 2 thousand lira rental fee annually. Work on the Babadağ Cable Car Project, whose construction started after the groundbreaking ceremony on August 12.5, continues without slowing down, the Fethiye Babadağ cable car line, which is planned to serve 21 million dollars and 30 million people per year, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The starting station of the cable car to be installed on the south west slope of Babadağ will be built on Yasdam Avenue in Ovacık District, and the end station will be built adjacent to the 1700 meter track at Babadağ summit. Those who take the 8-person cabins from the starting point will pass through the intermediate station on the 1200 meter track and reach the Babadağ 6 meter track in an average of 7-1700 minutes. Transportation to the 1800 and 1900 meter tracks will be provided by the chairlift system. Within the scope of the project, a viewing terrace and restaurant will be built at an altitude of 1700 and 1900.

Transportation to Babadağ Air Sports and Recreation Center is provided by minibuses belonging to parachute companies from Ölüdeniz District. With the realization of the cable car project, 121 thousand flights, which were recorded as records last year, are expected to increase to over 200 thousand.
