The capital Ankara, which is an indispensable part of the metros, has started to take its place among the cities which are frequently mentioned by the name of Ankara. With its speed and comfort, 6 new wagon, whose production is completed, has been added to the vehicle fleet which has become an indispensable part of the capital. 6 wagon which was downloaded to Macunköy Metro Facility Warehouse Facilities will carry passengers on the subway lines serving Kızılay-Koru, Batıkent-Törekent and Keçiören-Atatürk Cultural Center.
Expressing that the number of people traveling in the Metro, which is frequently used by Ankara residents, is approaching 500 thousand per day, EGO officials noted that with the expansion of the vehicle fleet, both the passenger carrying capacity increased and the transportation became more comfortable. The authorities emphasized that the subway wagons, which were manufactured and assembled in the Sincan Organized Industrial Zone, were delivered to EGO by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, and a total of 324 wagons were tendered by the ministry to be used in metro lines. 177 wagons, whose production was completed after the tender, were previously delivered to EGO. Finally, with the addition of 6 more wagons to the vehicle fleet, this number increased to 183. The remaining 141 vehicles will be taken over by the EGO General Directorate as the production is completed.
EGO officials informed that the vehicles received were included in the vehicle fleet after signaling and test compliance studies were carried out in EGO's Metro Operation Warehouse Management.
With the increase of the number of subway wagons, the transfer suffering on the Batıkent - Sincan metro line will also end, and the 24-hour application will begin.
