The 10th anniversary of the start of the high-speed train service between Madrid and Barcelona is celebrated today. Despite the political tensions experienced in Catalonia, the number of passengers transported in 2017 increased by 7,6% and reached 4,1 million, while the total number of roads carried to this day has reached 35 million. The total number of passengers transported in the high-speed train lines in Spain last year increased by 3,7% to 21,1 million. A new high-speed train service will be launched next year, which will offer more affordable services on the Madrid-Barcelona High Speed Line.
