Ankara İzmir YHT Line Ending Date Is Announced! : It was announced that the Izmir-Ankara High Speed Train (YHT) Project, whose foundation was laid in 2012 and will reduce the train journey between Ankara and Izmir from 14 hours to 3 hours and 30 minutes, will be completed in 2020.
The 2018 will start the test drive and will be completed by the end of 2019.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Izmir Deputy Atila Sertel, in his verbal question proposal, said to Ahmet Arslan, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, “At which stage are the works at the Izmir-Ankara High Speed Train (YHT) Project, the foundation of which was laid in 2012? What is the cost of the studies so far? What will it cost when it is completed? "What is the date set for this project to start test drives and voyages?"
COST 9 BILLION 323 MILLION
Answering Sertel's verbal question motion in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan said:
“Infrastructure construction work continues in all sections of the Izmir-Ankara High Speed Train Project and 28 percent physical progress has been achieved across infrastructure work. Within the scope of EST works, which we call superstructure and electrification, signalization and telecommunication, the tender of the Polatlı, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak section was held on 14/11/2017, and the line is planned to be completed in 2019 and the line will be completed in 2018 by 2020. 983 million Turkish liras have been spent for the project so far and approximately 8 billion 340 million Turkish liras will be spent and the project will be completed. ”
Ankara-Izmir YHT line of 624 kilometers, Ankara-Afyonkarahisar, Afyonkarahisar-Usak and Usak-Manisa-Izmir is composed of a total of 3 stages.
