MUSIAD conveyed their 'transportation' demands to the Minister

MUSIAD Şanlıurfa branch conveyed its problems and demands regarding the transportation of the city to the Minister of Transport.

Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan came to Şanlıurfa to hold various meetings. Minister Arslan met with representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Şanlıurfa as part of his contacts. The main agenda item at the meeting was transportation. MUSIAD Şanlıurfa Branch demanded that Şanlıurfa be developed logistically in railway transportation and that Mürşitpınar-OSB railway connection should be accelerated. However, MUSIAD, which renewed the demand for high-speed trains in terms of passenger transportation, said that the riot power bridge intersection project should be started and completed in a short time and the Akçakale-Harran road should be arranged urgently.

RESPONSE TO REQUESTS FROM THE MINISTER

Minister Arslan, in his assessment on the demands, said, “Our first goal was to bring the high-speed train project from Istanbul to Gaziantep to Şanlıurfa. The distance between Sanliurfa and Gaziantep is 150 km, and we had a tender for the final projects of this railway in July and we received preliminary bids. We will also have received technical and financial offers on the 20th of this month. I hope we will finish and sign the contract in January. Thus, we will launch the Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa project. Within the project, we will also work on the construction of a logistics center at the Mürşitpınar Border Gate. We made the pre-qualification tender for the high-speed train project between Şanlıurfa and Mardin about 10 ago and received the offers. Their investigation continues. Again, in order to connect Şanlıurfa's industry to Diyarbakır, we will have final project tenders in that line, which is 170 km, within the next year ”.
