The biggest rent of history came out from under Kanal Istanbul!

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's (IMM) CHP Assembly Member Nadir Ataman Kanal explained that Istanbul is not a waterway project, but the biggest annuity project in the history of the republic. X The 250 billion dollar rant came out of the project which is said to be done to protect the Bosphorus. said

The application of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of Kanal Istanbul, the crazy project of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was suspended on December 5 and was hastily reduced even after 24 hours. Nadir Ataman, CHP member of IMM, who has been on the agenda since 2011 and whose EIA application process has become controversial, examined striking data. When the “New City Plan” prepared by the IMM with the EIA application of the controversial project, it was emphasized that the aim was not to protect the Bosphorus, but to create hundreds of billions of dollars of rent.

Stating that the project will create an income of 250 billion dollars, Ataman made the following calculation: “The lands that are in the hands of the state and all of which have already been transferred to TOKİ and the lands abandoned to the state free of charge after the implementation of zoning will constitute a total of 70 million square meters. From these parcels, which are estimated to reach approximately 1000 dollars per square meter unit price, 150 billion dollars of income is targeted by projects to be carried out by TOKİ-Emlak Konut. It is calculated that the 4 islands, each of which will be made with the excavation to be built, will be approximately 100 billion dollars annuity. So there is a 250 billion dollar rent. ”

Ataman explained that 40% of the lands in the selected area belong to the state while determining the route, “The project will create approximately 100 million square meters of development plot. With the parceling application, approximately 50 percent of the land owned by private individuals will be released to the public and 70 percent of the zoning parcels will be the state. The government will be able to use the areas it owns as a residential-commercial area with the need Regulation Partnership Share (DOP) and Public Partnership Share (KOP) deductions.

Ataman noted that the details of the project, especially the route included in the EIA application, were disclosed to the public without disclosing it to the President, and therefore the application was hastily suspended and many heads of departments were dismissed from the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization.

The highly anticipated project passes through Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, Başakşehir and Arnavutköy. The cost of the approximately 45-kilometer Kanal Istanbul project is 60 billion TL. Küçükçekmece Sazlıdere-Durusu route was chosen among the 5 alternative routes. The channel will start from the point that separates the Marmara Sea from Küçükçekmece Lake and will continue along the Sazlıdere Dam Basin. After passing Sazlıbosna Village, reaching east of Dursunköy, after passing Baklalı Village, it will reach the Black Sea in the west of Lake Terkos. Approximately 7 thousand meters of the channel route will pass through Küçükçekmece, 3 thousand 100 meters of which will be Avcılar, 6 thousand 500 meters of which will be Başakşehir, 28 thousand 564 meters of which will be Arnavutköy.
