TCDD has decided to tender for 100 annual historical station. Kırklareli Mayor Mehmet Kesimoğlu from CHP said, iz We don't let this place go to rent. If necessary, we will go on hunger strike to cancel the tender. ”
In Kırklareli, the decision to put the historical train station in tender put the citizen up. TCDD 1st Regional Directorate, which owns property for the historical station building, which is a monumental building that needs to be protected from the first degree of the city's landmark buildings, has announced that it will hold a lease tender on 1 November. According to the tender announcement, a total of 24 thousand 2 square meters of immovable property will be leased for "Social, Cultural and Commercial" purposes, including a 2-storey station building, toilet, weighbridge and gas shop buildings, a 39-storey lodging, a water tank and an open area of 863 thousand 40 square meters.
'THIS IS PUBLIC FINANCE'
In other words, the historical Kırklareli train station, buffet, tea house, cafeteria, restaurant and so on, which are 100 years old, are among the landmarks of the Republican era. The tender, the lower limit of which is determined as 10 thousand TL per month, will be made with a closed envelope by the method of receiving offers. Mehmet Kesoğlu, Mayor of Kırklareli, who has been trying to restore the historic station building for years and open it to the public, reacted to the tender. “The building that was not given to us and left to its fate will be rented by TCDD. Even if his property belongs to TCDD, it is the property of the people of Kırklareli. ”
'CAN'T RECEIVE A LICENSE FROM US'
Stating that the train has not come for years, Kesoglu said, “Now, we will not let someone withdraw for the sake of rent. If necessary, I will go on a hunger strike with the councilors to cancel the tender. This is a protected area, no nails. If they try to build, they cannot get a license from me. The citizen is also very sensitive in this regard. ” Cutioglu demanded that the Republic building be allocated to the Municipality of Kırklareli in order to restore the Republic building to its original form for use as a protocol building where foreign guests will be hosted, and to make environmental arrangements with bicycle routes around it.
CITY COUNCIL SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN STARTED
Kırklareli City Council launched a petition against the leasing of the largest green area of the city, which is an important part of the historical and cultural heritage, and which hosts many festivals, to private enterprises. The historical building is also defined as "monumental" in the "Kırklareli Cultural Heritage Inventory" prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
