300 million liras from EBRD to İzmir Metro

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will give credit for Izmir Metro

For the second part of the Izmir Metro, a loan of 300 million euros, equivalent to approximately 70 million lira, was provided from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

A 3 km extension will be built to the 6-7,2 km distance between Fahrettin Altay and İzmir metro light rail system. Thus, Balçova, Çağdaş, Dokuz Eylül University, Fine Arts, Narlıdere, Siteler, District Governorship stops will be added to the metro line.

The total cost of the project is 280 million euros. TL equivalent to 1,2 billion TL. Together with the loan of the EBRD, the total loan to be used by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is 230 million Euros; It will be 985 million TL. The remaining financing will be provided by the municipality from its own budget.

When the line to be taken in 2020 is completed, İzmir Metro will reach 3 kilometers between Evka-19 and Narlıdere District Governorate.
