“Between 1951-2004, a total of 18 kilometers of railways were built, an average of 945 kilometers per year. As of today, we have become the 213th high speed train operator in Europe and the 6th in the world by building a 8 km high-speed train line. We increased the rail network from 10 thousand 959 kilometers to 12 thousand 532 kilometers. We increased our signal line length from 2 thousand 449 km to 5 thousand 462 km. We have increased our electric line length from 2 thousand 122 kilometers to 4 thousand 350 kilometers. We renewed the railway line over 10 thousand kilometers. ”

Official opening of BTK on October 30

Stating that they have reached a very important stage on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line, whose tests are continuing, Arslan said, “With the participation of our President, we will start our first official train journey from Baku on October 30. The train will arrive continuously from the new line to Kars. Afterwards, wherever they want to take the cargo, they either send it to the Mediterranean or send it to the westernmost end of our country to Europe without interruption. I hope we will have launched the first official campaign with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan and Georgia officials. Thus, we will have opened the line. ” found the assessment.

Private sector calls for liberalization

At this point, however, we will no longer expect everything from the state. Private railway train operators will also take responsibility for the expansion of the railway sector. Many companies from many sectors are interested in this process. We simplify the process, open the way, but the important thing is that the private sector is also located here, put it under the stone, and we realize the growth of the industry together. The aviation industry was also thought to be putting its hands on the stone, but THY grew extraordinarily and became a world giant. Private sector companies have also become capable of doing business worldwide. Such a future awaits the railway sector. We especially want the private sector to take part in this business by taking responsibility. Because it is much easier for us to realize the stronger railway sector together. ”
