UTIKAD Awarded Young Forwarder Candidate of 2017 Year

FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations-International Transportation Organizers Association Federation) International Young Forwarder Competition in Turkey representing the participating Merve Akçalı organized by, was awarded a prize by FIATA and UTIKAD.

The award for the Young Freed Forwarder of the Year (YIFFYA) has been awarded by FIATA since the 1999 to encourage young forwarders in the logistics sector to innovate and develop. To be a candidate for the YIFFYA award, you must first enter a nationwide qualification and be successful. With at least two years of industry experience, candidates must be under 32 and must have a good level of English.

4 candidates, who have gone to the center of FIATA with their projects sent to the center of FIATA every year, are invited to the World Congress of that year by FIATA to compete for the world championship on behalf of their continents. Both the regional winners and the young forwarder contest of the year are awarded by FIATA, TT Club and ITJ Magazine. The young forwarder of the year also receives a one-week study visit in a country other than his own, earning a one-week academic training at the TT Club headquarters in London.

Representing Turkey in the contest Tandem Logistics Services Transportation and Trade. Ltd. The subject of Merve Akçal's project was to transport live animals to ANKAPARK, one of the world's largest thematic parks in Ankara. With the project developed by Akçalı; 1 million 200 thousand square meter park organized from the African region snake and crocodile, spider from South America, penguin from the Galapagos islands and the introduction of tropical fish from Malaysia. With the young logistical project, the trucks aimed to carry out a multimodal project / livestock transportation by taking into consideration the time-sensitive cargo transportation by using cold air cargo trucks and charter planes.

As a result of the evaluation of Akçalı's project by FIATA, it was awarded with a certificate of appreciation and a gift from FIATA. Akçalı was also rewarded with a check of 1000 by UTIKAD.
