Konya YHT Station will serve 3 million passengers per year

Konya YHT Station, whose foundation was laid by Prime Minister Yıldırım, is expected to serve 3 million passengers a year.

In a written statement made by the General Directorate of State Railways (TCDD), it was reminded that the foundations of Konya YHT Station and Kayacık Logistics Center were laid by Prime Minister Yıldırım with a ceremony attended by the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Ahmet Arslan.

In the statement, which is expected to serve 3 million passengers per year, the Konya Metropolitan Municipality will be integrated with the light rail system project.

“The new station, where all kinds of social and cultural equipment for passengers will be located in Konya Wheat Market Location, will make Konya the logistics base of Anatolia. Konya (Kayacık) Logistics Center will be established on an area of ​​1 million square meters near the Organized Industrial Zone and will have an annual transport capacity of 1,7 million tons. In order to increase the competitiveness of our industrialists and to make our country the logistics base of its region, the construction of logistics centers in 21 different locations was planned. Within the scope of the project of bringing logistics centers to our country, 7 logistics centers have been opened so far, and the construction, tender and expropriation works of the others continue. When put into service all of the logistics center will convert the base logistics in Turkey, the Turkish logistics industry to 34 million tonnes additional transport facilities and 10 million square meters of open space, storage area, container inventory and handling area will be gained. "
