Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department prepared the Kocaeli Strategic Noise Maps, the measures to be taken within the scope of the Noise Action Plans Preliminary Report was announced. Deputy Mayor Gökmen Mengüç and the President of the Environmental Protection and Control Department Necmi Kahraman attended the press conference in the Metropolitan Municipality Assembly Meeting Hall.
MEASUREMENTS AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY
Strategic Noise Maps, including traffic, railway, port and industry throughout the province, were determined by 2015 as of December. Noise measurements were made at different times of day, evening and night. The data obtained were derived from the façade of which the structural points were obtained by Hot-Spot calculation method used in Europe.
URBAN PLANNING AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT IMPORTANT
In the meeting, it was pointed out that Urban Planning and Traffic Management is important in preventing noise pollution. In terms of Urban Planning, it is stated that the buildings where high density buildings such as housing, school and hospital should not be built around highways and big streets; It was stated that it would be more appropriate to construct industrial facilities on roads and highways instead of buildings such as hospitals, schools and residences. The importance of traffic management in reducing noise pollution in the city was also mentioned. It was emphasized that the projects such as tram and subway are encouraged by people, increasing bicycle use, creating high quality asphalt and pedestrian zones and reducing noise pollution.
PROJECTS WILL BE COMPLETED
Kocaeli Izmit and many other districts in the specified location of the measurements were carried out at the meeting, '' Hospital, School, Four Road, Intersection '' in places where the population is concentrated in frontal measurements were specified. In addition, the projects at the locations determined in Karamürsel, Gölcük, İzmit, Gebze and Dilovası districts will be completed by the end of 2017.
