Deutsche Bahn orders Siemens 250 million euro locomotive German rail operator Deutsche Bahn orders Siemens a total of 250 locomotives, 60 million euro. Detusche Bahn, who wants to give weight to the railway from the road in cross-border transportation, emphasized that the first locomotives will be put into operation at the end of this year within the framework of an agreement between Deutche Bahn Cargo and Siemens.

The locomotives to be purchased will be equipped with the European Train Control System (ETCS). The locomotives will be used in the Rhine-Alps freight corridor between Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands. It will even be included in Belgium in 2020.
