Rough Construction of 3rd Airport Traffic Control Tower Completed

Facade and roofing works of the Air Traffic Control Tower of the award-winning Istanbul New Airport will be made.

It is stated that the flood and hail disaster at the Third Airport, which will be the world's largest aviation center, slowed down the works a little.

Istanbul Grand Airport (İGA) CEO Yusuf Akçayoğlu made a statement on the subject and said, “76.5 million square meters of 1.4 million square meters form the first phase. As of today, 30 thousand employees have been reached. When it is finished, it will have 225 thousand employees and indirectly employ 1.5 million people. In 2025, it will contribute 40 percent of the national income of 5 billion dollars to the economy. Work continues on the runway, tower and terminal construction. We pay great attention to the environmental factor in the studies conducted here. We rehabilitated unused mining areas and did not spoil the environment. We are constantly being monitored. " he spoke.

The rough construction works of the Air Traffic Control Tower at the third airport have also been completed and it is time for the facade and roofing works in construction.

The Third Airport is planned to be put into service on October 29, 2018. According to the report of Gökhan Artan from Habertürk News Center, while the tower is designed inspired by the 'tulip' flower, it includes an elliptical tower that can be seen by all passengers who will use the new airport.

Designed by Pininfarina and Aecom, Istanbul New Airport Air Traffic Control Tower will be 90 meters high and 17 storey.
