World Bank approves 1 billion euro loan to Iran for railway power lines Yusuf Geranpaşa, head of the Iranian regional railway authority, said the World Bank has approved 1 billion euro credit to reduce Iran's railway network with power lines. Geranpaşa said, “The World Bank approved 1 billion euros for financing the electrification of railways. Electrification works will start from Garmsar in Semnan region and continue to Gorgan city of Golestan region. ” Iran signed an agreement with Russia in November 2015 for the electrification of the Inche Nose route from Garmsar.
