While the Samsun Kalin Railway Line is being renewed with the financial support of the European Union, dozens of historical bridges are being repaired within the scope of the project. In other words, this line, just like Irmak-Karabük -Zonguldak line, was one of the biggest dreams of the Republic in the field of transportation.
The total length of the 378 kilometer line has been renewed at 2015 with the financial support of the European Union within the scope of the Transport Operational Program. Total 259 million euros will cost Samsun Thick Railway Line Project Renewal of euros 220 part of European Union grants, while the 39 euros will be financed by the Republic of Turkey resources. The project is the largest project realized outside EU borders with EU grants.
