Second Stage of Şanlıurfa Trolleybus Project Begins: Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Nihat Çiftçi met with tradesmen representatives of central and rural districts in Sahur as well as iftar programs and evaluated the tradesmen's demands and problems.
In the month of Ramadan, President Çiftçi solved the problems of the city with an intensive work program and this time he met with M. Şefik Bakay, President of Şanlıurfa Union of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chambers (ŞESOB), and the chairmen of the Metropolitan Municipality.
Stating that they are working to make the tradesmen look orderly and at the same standards, Mayor Çiftçi said: “We are starting our facade beautification work in all our district centers. The facade will be completely dressed. The sign will be the standard. Turkish ones will be of the same standard. Arabic signs in our city will be in the tourism standard. Arabic signs will be written in Turkish, Arabic and English. ”
TROLEYBUS PROJECT BEGINS
Stating that they will switch to trolleybus transportation systems that will be put into practice in the city center, Mayor Çiftçi said: “We required trolleybus tender, the first stage of which will be in the city center. The project will start after Ramadan. While 5300 people enter the bazaar area daily by car, 30 thousand people go by public transport. A trolleybus machine will carry 350 people each time. When the project is implemented, buses will depart from that area. Here, we will not close any roads considering the tradesman. For him, public transportation will be provided in the form of a ring. Facade beautification and trolleybus project will start after Ramadan. Studies will start in 13 districts. In this sense, we know that our burden is heavy. ”
Stating that they regard all the problems of the city as Metropolitan Municipality, Mayor Çiftçi: “As a city, we look at the problems. We work in all areas. Metropolitan will solve problems in all districts. Last year, we focused on infrastructure works. We focused on road construction. This year, we will move on to editing, relaxing and aesthetic works. ”
Expressing his gratitude for the support given by the Metropolitan Mayor Nihat Çiftçi to the shopkeepers, Şanlıurfa Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (ŞESOB) thanked M. Şefik Bakay on behalf of the chamber presidents and craftsmen.
