Night Shift at Konak Tram

Night work on Konak Tram: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, while continuing the construction works of Konak Tramway, is making the final touches to put Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard in a new face. Starting on Monday, April 24, asphalt and median works will begin in the 3-kilometer section between Marina Junction and Mithatpaşa Park. The works will be carried out between 23.00 and 06.00 at night in order to prevent the traffic flow from being affected negatively.

Karşıyaka Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has completed the manufacturing process in the tram and started its preliminary operation, continues its works in Konak Tramway. Metropolitan Municipality is starting the works that will constitute the new face of Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard, where the line productions of Konak Tramway have been completed. Starting from Monday, April 24, asphalt and median arrangements will be made. The first phase of the works to be carried out in two stages covers the section between the highway underpass that is under construction in front of Mithatpaşa Park and the Marina Junction. The asphalting works to be carried out in this section will be carried out between 23.00 and 06.00 in order not to negatively affect traffic and citizens. For the work to be started by the sea, the traffic flow will be arranged in the opposite direction, going and going.

Final touches

As part of the paving work, the road level will be harmonized with the tram line. However, the work that will change the face of the region, such as the arrangement of the central refuge, the withdrawal of the electricity lines and the erection of the lighting poles, will be completed in 50 days. Thus, the physical work in the area where the tram line passes will be finished.

The asphalting works will then be continued in the section between the highway underpass in front of Mithatpaşa Park and the Konak underpass. The paving works on this stage will begin after the schools are on holiday. Metropolitan Municipality, on the route of Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard, where the tram line passes, Şehit Major Ali Official Tufan Street intersection between 16 Street intersection on the land side of the pavement.
