The works of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality tram project that will bring new breath to the urban transportation are in full swing. 8.8 kilometers Karşıyaka Metropolitan Municipality, which has been offering the tram to the public since last week, now gives all the weight to the productions in Konak Tram. Rail laying works were completed in two stages at the 460-meter section of Poet Eşref Boulevard between Lausanne Square and Alsancak Hocazade Mosque.

20 April 2017 will begin on Thursday 3. and 4. Within the framework of the stage works, two-way rail layings will be manufactured at the Lozan Square passage. Throughout the productions expected to last for 24 days, vehicle traffic will be arranged in sections and transportation will be provided in two directions along Şair Eşref Boulevard. Access to Vasıf Çınar Boulevard and Plevne Boulevard will continue. Vehicles coming from these two avenues to go to Bornova will also have access to this direction by making a U-turn from Montreux Square.
