Stating that all participants participating in the UITP Conference have the same goal in different parts of the world, President Çelik said, ı The common goal of all of us is to increase the comfort and quality of the public transportation. For this purpose, we are developing a number of projects and trying to implement these projects. Because we know that the most important way to reduce the traffic density in the cities we live in is to popularize public transportation. Because we know that the way to protect the air quality of the cities we live in is to use public transportation more intensively. And we know that public transport is also important for the economy of cities and countries. For these reasons, there is no end to Reform in Public Transportation which is among our subjects today. Emerging technologies, opportunities and changing needs make new reforms inevitable. Geliş

AM WE HAVE BEEN LEADER AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEADER “

Öl Our city is in a very good condition in terms of transportation and public transport in comparison with the cities in its own scale. The light rail system is operating in the main backbone of our city, which is a reform for our city. Public transportation is provided by public buses outside the rail system. We are a city that manages to take off the vans. This is a reform for public transportation. The bicycles we have integrated into the rail system are also a reform. And for a long time the pool system in Kayseri, where we provide revenue sharing, is a reform. However, as I have stated, there is a need to revise some of these reforms. In addition, there is a need for new reforms. Because the more you bring public transport and transportation, the better we know it is beyond good. In this direction, Kayseri plays a pioneering role in every field, and I would like to say that we carried out very important works in transportation and public transportation. We announced the year of 2017, which we will implement these, as the Year of Transportation in Kayseri. I will not mention our road and underpass work; but I would like to give you information about the new models we will implement in public transportation. We will continue to expand the rail network. In addition to the East-West route, we will start the north-south line. We are also establishing a suburban line in Kayseri. Some of our districts will be transported to the city by suburban. We will start using electric buses in public transportation. By re-planning public transport lines, we will get out of transportation from one place to another, and we will move from anywhere to transport concept. By creating a kind of transfer stations at the entrances to the city center, we will carry all our people to the center of the city with less transportation. We will terminate the service management of intercity bus companies and we will provide this service as a municipality and thus offer less rentable services. For this we will install 7 mini pocket terminal in different places. In the meantime, with the re-planning of public transport lines, we proceed to the performance-based progress payment with private bus operators. We agreed with private operators. Now we are working on the completion of legislation and contract. We believe that all these works will make public transportation in Kayseri more serial, quality, comfortable and safe. So far we have always been pioneers, and we will continue to be a pioneer after that. Bugün

The conference was interrupted after the speeches. President Çelik, who greeted the participants in the meantime, examined two separate electric-powered bellows buses exhibited for the conference.

Turkey Union of Public Transport Conference was continued by later session.
