The first order under the framework agreement was signed for the 21 TALENT 3 train and a budget of about 150 million (156 million US dollars) was set. These trains are aimed at strengthening the link between rural and urban areas in the Vorarlbeg region and neighboring countries, as it increases the local public transport capacity in daily passenger transport services.

The TALENT 1.400 trains are now available in Europe and Canada. Of these, the 187 vehicle is used in Austria under the ÖBB operation.
