Ankara Rail System Lines Carried 117 Million Passengers: Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate provided the transportation of 316 million passengers in the city by public transport last year. EGO General Directorate, which undertakes most of the transportation in the capital city, transported average 700 thousand by bus, 400 thousand by rail systems and 8 thousand passengers by cable car to its home, work, school and many points on weekdays.
EGO buses traveled 86 million kilometers over the last year, while rail systems 207 carried over a thousand times and carried the capital city.

EGO buses, which brought 700 million passengers home, work, school, hospital and shopping in 2016, from old to young, from disabled to veteran, traveled 199 million kilometers in this period.

Rail systems, which are at the beginning of modern, contemporary and safe transportation systems, have provided transportation to 207 thousand passengers a day and 400 million passengers a year by making 117 thousand flights last year.
Among the rail systems that provide significant relief to the city traffic, 51 million passengers were transported with the Batıkent-Kızılay subway, 20 million with the Çayyolu-Kızılay subway and 9 million with the Törekent-Batıkent subway. 37 million passengers were transported with ANKARAY, which travels between AŞTİ-Dikimevi. Passenger transportation started in Keçiören Metro, which was opened in January, and a significant relief was provided in the traffic density in the northern line of the city.

The average age of the vehicles, which is constantly renewed for the capital city to travel with air-conditioned, comfortable and safe vehicles, has been reduced to 7,09. In order to enable disabled citizens to travel by public transport, 1515 buses have been put on a ramp for the disabled.
While all the buses have in-car information screens, 7 of the 423 1047 bus stations provide transportation to the capitals more easily with the Braille alphabetical stop and 124 of them are smart stops.
