Siemens prepares to invest in Bursa

Siemens is preparing to invest in Bursa: Siemens plans to prepare for investment in Bursa. Siemens wants to take part in tenders after 51 percent of the local systems have been introduced in rail systems. In this context, Siemens aims to make an investment of 80 million Euros in Bursa.

Bursa companies visited the production facilities of Siemens and Bombardier companies, one of the giants of the sector, in Austria within the framework of the Rail Systems UR-GE Project. Companies from Bursa met with Siemens Sales Manager Christoph Masopust and Bombardier Light Rail Vehicles Division Manager Marcus Pfaff. At the meeting, steps to be taken regarding cooperation were evaluated.

Siemens Sales Manager Christoph Masopust stated that they have prepared a new investment plan to support Siemens' production in Vienna. Masopust said the plant has lost its competitive environment due to the rise of the Euro and other reasons. In this context, Masopust stated that they are aiming for a new investment abroad that will support factory production.

Expressing that Bursa has a very important industrial background, Masopust made the assessment that Bursa is a city accustomed to the repressive production speed of automotive. Masopust also said that Bursa has a very important market in terms of rail systems.

Masopust also in many projects such as subway tender in Istanbul with an emphasis on nativism must be 51 percent by the government of Turkey, then this condition said they need local investors. Masopust, initially 80 million euros to Turkey in this framework gave a description of the investment to be realized.

Marcus Pfaff, Manager of Bombardier Light Rail Vehicles Department, stated that they closely follow Bursa and talked about the existence of companies that they are in cooperation with in Bursa for the time being. Pfaff recently added that they are open to new collaborations with companies from Bursa.
