CHP's Yarkadaş Asks When to Open Haydarpaşa Train Station

CHP's Yarkadaş Asked When Haydarpasha Will Be Opened: CHP Istanbul Deputy Barış Yarkadaş asked whether the stopped conventional railway line services would be completely canceled.

From the Haydarpasa Train Station, the conventional railway line service, the line between Gebze and Izmit-Yenikoy was stopped on 1 February 2012 for renewal.

CHP Istanbul Deputy Barış Yarkadaş asked the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan to respond to the motion submitted to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly with the following questions:

1- From the Haydarpaşa Train Station, the conventional railway line service, the line between Gebze and Izmit-Yeniköy was stopped on 1 February 2012 for renewal. Consequently, conventional railway expeditions from Istanbul to Anatolia cannot be made for 5 years. There was also the possibility to travel between Istanbul and Ankara with the services such as the Anatolian Express and the Fatih Express, and, unlike the high-speed train, would the conventional lines with the possibility of a night-time expedition be completely canceled? Are other countries operating in the world fast train operations, cheaper operating and maintenance costs are cheaper than the conventional lines are canceled, or citizens continue to benefit from the two alternatives according to their budget and time?

2- Prime Minister Binali Yildirim announced that it will continue to be used as a railway station after the restoration work of Haydarpaşa, while opening a railway fair in Istanbul on 3 March 2016. When will Haydarpaşa Train Station, which has been closed to main railway services for about five years, will be reopened?

3- Gebze-Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci-Halkalı The suburban flights between 19 and 2013 were stopped on the basis of line renewal. Why is the work still not completed even after about 3,5 years? When is it planned to be finished?

4- Is the process to be carried out by the OHL Dimetronic, who should have renewed and delivered this line in 24 per month, because it did not fulfill its obligations? 24 at the end of the month, why was the business not given to another firm or the state itself did not do?

5- Spanish OHL Dimetronic has been given an additional period in 2015, this time the company; Halkalı-Kazlıçeşme line in September 2016; It has committed to finish the Ayrılıkçeşme-Pendik line at the end of 2016. We see that this did not happen again, despite entering 2017. Has any action been taken against the company that did not fulfill its commitments for the second time?

6-Istanbul-Ankara high-speed train line was opened on 25 July 2014. As the part between Pendik and Haydarpaşa has not been completed for about 2,5 years, high speed train services are made from Pendik. Due to the fact that the flights are made from Pendik, the majority of passengers traveling between Istanbul and Ankara do not prefer the high speed train. For this reason, what kind of idle capacity has been created in the 2,5 year in Istanbul-Ankara high-speed train line? When will the Istanbul-Ankara high-speed train line start working at the planned capacity?
