Subcontracting to break the IZBAN strike: In Izmir, the strike is the most important pillar of urban transportation. On the day of the strike, the subcontractor was put into service to break the strike.

With the 110 kilometer line and 33 station, İZBAN, which serves to the people of İzmir from Torba to Aliağa and which is the most important part of urban transportation, wants to neutralize the strike. 14 commissions between Çiğli and Aliağa were started with subcontractors and mechanics. Total 9 stops.

On the other hand, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality increased bus and ferry service from the first day to neutralize the strike. The permits of the bus drivers have been canceled and the drivers are overtime.

Demiryol İş Union reacted to the practice with the statement made to the workers. Addressing the workers who came together in front of Alsancak Station, Branch President Hüseyin Ervüz said, “They are using our colleagues who work with us against us. There are other initiatives, but I hope we will succeed. Our face laughs. ”

Referring to the Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu's 15 percent hike proposal, Ervüz said: “The employer officially offered 12 percent and 3 percent gave them a good child premium. They said, 'If you don't get sick, if you don't come to work late, if you do not commit misconduct, you can work like a robot, then we will give you an additional 3 percent. ” But they say to the public, "We gave them 15 percent, they got off the table for 1,5 percent." Neither our bonus request nor our midpoint request was accepted. We are currently demanding a 22 percent hike. The difference is 7 percent. We are not on strike for 1,5 percent. If there is an offer, we will sit and talk. We will forward this to you. But news is going on with televisions and newspapers. We do not accept this understanding. ”

İZBAN workers want to pay the same price as the employees of İzmir Metro who do the same job. Workers who want to raise the lowest net wage to a thousand 24 liras with the increase of 734, demanding that the bonuses be raised from 70 to 90. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which rejected the demands of the workers, announced that it has recently withdrawn the raise offer from 12 to 15. 304 workers went on strike after the negotiations with the Turkish Railroad-Trade Union were blocked.
