17 people lost their lives in the train accident that took place in the southern port city of Karachi in Pakistan.
Nasir Nazir, Pakistan Railways official, said in a statement, 17 was killed and 50 was wounded when one of the trains struck the other from the rear in the city.
First aid teams stated that there were two women and one child among the dead. It was also noted that the condition of the five wounded in the hospital was critical.
Train accidents occur frequently in Pakistan due to insufficient rail infrastructure.
