Istanbul, Camlica Mosque Transportation to be Provided by Metro

Transportation to Çamlıca Mosque in Istanbul will be Provided by Metro: It was decided to construct a rail system instead of a cable car to facilitate access to the Çamlıca Mosque, which is ongoing at Çamlıca Hill, one of the highest points of Istanbul, and is about to be completed.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly's ordinary meeting in November, the zoning plan amendment regarding the construction of a metro line to Çamlıca at the General Assembly of the Assembly was accepted by majority of votes. Mecidiyeköy-Çamlıca cable car project was designed to reach Çamlıca Mosque, but this project was canceled by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council in July. It was announced that the Altunizade subway would be extended 3.5 kilometers instead of the cable car project, and it would be possible to reach Çamlıca Mosque by metro.

The metro line that will start from Altunizade Köprülü Interchange, extending from Küçükçamlıca District to Ferah District, then to Çamlıca Mosque and where there are 4 stations, the stops are as follows; The first station is Altunizade Station, it will be located in Küçükçamlıca Neighborhood, at the junction of Altunizade Köprülü. The second station will be Çamlıca Hill Station in Kısıklı District. The third station will be located in Ferah District. The 1th station will be Çamlıca Mosque Station.

The metro line will be integrated with the metrobus and Üsküdar-Ümraniye metro line from Altunizade Köprülü junction. Marmaray from this metro line, Kadıköy-Kaynarca Metro and city lines will be accessible.
