Israel Plans to Extend Tel Aviv Metro Line to Burak Wall

Israel plans to extend the Tel Aviv Metro Line to Burak Wall: Israel plans to extend the Tel Aviv metro line to the Burak Wall (Wailing Wall) area adjacent to Masjid Al-Aqsa in East Jerusalem.
According to the report of Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, Israeli Transport Minister Yisrael Katz has instructed to extend the metro line in Tel Aviv to the area where Burak Wall is located in the west of Masjid Al-Aqsa in East Jerusalem.
The report stated that, “With the project, which is planned to be built for a length of 56 kilometers, tourists, students and citizens will have direct access to the Western Wall”.
It is noted that the project, which will reduce the transportation from Tel Aviv to East Jerusalem to 28 minutes, will start in late 2017 and will cost 1 billion 800 million dollars.
The UNESCO Executive Board condemned Israel's decision to install a cable car for transportation to the Wall of Burak in East Jerusalem, about two weeks ago.
