Today, President Erdoğan will make the first pass through the Eurasia tunnel: the asphalt works of the Eurasia Tunnel, which will ease the traffic in Istanbul, have been completed. Today, President Erdoğan will make his first pass through the tunnel to be opened on December 20, by his own office.
The Eurasia Tunnel, a giant project, is now approaching the end. Asphalt work has been completed in the giant project to be opened on 20 December. According to the information obtained from the Ministry of Transport, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will examine the project area today and will make the first pass through the tunnel by passing the European side to Asia with the authority vehicle to use.
UNDER THE THROAT 106 METER
While the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge was opened on August 26, the works of the Eurasia Tunnel, which unites the two sides of the Bosphorus this time at a depth of 106 meters, came to an end. With the build-operate-transfer model, the Turkish-Korean Joint Venture is under the responsibility of ATAŞ, and the works continue on the 14.6 km Eurasia Tunnel Project under the Bosphorus for cars, 7/24. As part of the project, Kazlıçeşme 'U-Turn' structure has been completed, and the final stage has been reached in the manufacturing of Yenikapı and Samatya underpasses and other road works.
XIII from Kazlıçeşme Göztepe
In order to direct the citizen to the Eurasia Tunnel, which will reduce the time from 100 minutes to 15 minutes between Göztepe and Kazlıçeşme, signs indicating the tunnel direction are placed on the connection roads between Sarayburnu-Kazlıçeşme and Harem-Göztepe. It is stated that the works continue in accordance with the schedule and the opening will be held on 20 December. It is predicted that 2011 thousand vehicles will pass through the Eurasia Tunnel, which started in 1 and was built 250 meters below the Bosphorus with an investment of 106 billion 100 million dollars.
NO CASH BOX
In the Eurasia Tunnel, instead of the Free Pass System applied on the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, box office structures with an island between the lanes will be built. Collection of fees will only be made through automated systems and there will be no cash collection that may lead to traffic congestion. On the other hand, there will be no different lanes for OGS and HGS users, and all lanes can be crossed.
