Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan stated that they have made significant progress in the Izmir-Istanbul highway project and that the project will be completed at the end of 2018 and at the beginning of 2019. Arslan said that the works continued rapidly in other parts of the project after the gulf passage bridge and said, “We have made an important progress in the Izmir-Istanbul highway project. Our work continues. We will have completed our project at the end of 2018 and at the beginning of 2019 ”.
Work has been accelerated for the Izmir-Ankara high-speed train project, which is one of the important transportation projects of Izmir. Speaking about the high-speed train project that will reduce the 14-hour Izmir-Ankara train line to 3,5 hours, Minister Arslan said, “Our construction work on the Ankara-Izmir high speed train continues. We did our work from Afyon to Ankara. Our work continues on the Ankara-Polatlı line. As of 2017, work will be started on all lines on the route, ”he said. Minister of Transport Arslan stated that besides the high-speed train project, the Ankara-Izmir highway, which is the second giant project that will connect the capital and Izmir, added speed to the works.
