Citizens and gendarmerie teams in the vicinity tried to appease the shocked relatives. The bodies were placed in the funeral vehicle of the Ulaş Municipality and taken to Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty Hospital for autopsy. The passengers on the railbus, which was damaged and derailed, also experienced fearful moments.
Sezgin Aşçı, one of the passengers, said, “We heard a big noise after a long horn. We realized it was an accident and we all panicked. Then the mechanic snapped out, there were pieces of glass on his head and face. We were pretty scared, we were still dragging at that time By braking, we drifted to the point where we are, ”he said. An investigation on the incident has been initiated.
