Gülermak Construction of Dubai Metro was awarded the expansion contract: Turkey's construction giant Gülermak Construction, Dubai Expo 2020, the planned $ 3 billion subway expansion of the line took part in the consortium trio named Link Expoline won the tender.
Gülermak İnşaat participated in the consortium, which won the tender for the expansion of metro stations, one of the largest projects of the last period, in Dubai, together with French Alstom and Spanish Acciona.
According to the tender result approved by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid El Maktum, the triple consortium of Turkish, French and Spanish construction companies will expand Dubai's metro lines by 2020 kilometers before the Expo 2020 Export Fair to be held in Dubai in 15.
INSTRUCTION FROM DUBAI SHEIKH: START NOW
For the metro project Route 3, where 2020 will cost $ 1 billion, Sheikh Mohammed instructed the contractors to start construction immediately.
According to the project, new metro stations will be built within 2020 kilometers of the distance between Nakheel Port and Tower Station in Dubai and the area where Expo 15 will be built, and the station will be ready for service with new trains until 2020.
CONSTRUCTION WORKS AND SPANISH ACCENTA WILL GULER CONSTRUCTION
Looking at the project details, the French Alstom will undertake the supply of 50 trains for the metro project, and 15 of these trains will only serve for Expo 2020. The remaining 35 trains will be used for more active Dubai Metro operation.
Alstom will also install the electromechanical infrastructure of the metro. The French Thales Group, on the other hand, will provide all the technological equipment needed by Spanish Acciona and Turkish Gülermak Construction companies, which will build the new lines. Construction is expected to begin in the last quarter of 2016. Test drives are planned for the last quarter of 2019.

Since the Dubai Road and Transport Authority, which is running the tender, works in coordination with the financial department of the Dubai Government, it was announced that the financing model for the project will be established easily.
