Antalya-Kayseri High Speed Train

Antalya-Kayseri High Speed Train May Demolish Fairy Chimneys: Fairy chimneys marked the KİT commission organized in the Parliament. CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer stated that the high-speed train, which will run on the 642-kilometer Antalya-Konya-Aksaray-Nevşehir-Kayseri line and will speed up to 200 kilometers per hour, will put millions of years old fairy chimneys at risk of collapse. TCDD director Apaydın answered the CHP deputy, "I hope nothing will happen".
Approximately 642 kilometers will work in Antalya-Konya-Aksaray-Nevsehir-Kayseri line and the speed of the 200 speedometer will make the hour train, the world's wonder of the Peribacalarını, said it will face the danger of destruction. The new YHT line passes through Ürgüp and Avanos where the Peribacalar are located.
CHP Niğde deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer, due to the vibrations of the high-speed train, the fairy chimneys will be damaged, Mecis'te said in the KIT Commission and TCDD General Manager İsa Apaydın"We will destroy the Fairy Chimneys with tremors," he said. On the other hand, General Director Apaydın gave an interesting answer to the CHP deputy Gürer, saying, "It can be passed at certain distances, I hope nothing will happen".
DANGER
Gürer said, “No study was conducted by evaluating the protected sites and historical texture. The line should be shifted to Niğde. Otherwise, the fairy chimneys could be damaged and destroyed ”. Gürer stated that the historical texture of the fairy chimneys in Nevşehir will be damaged due to the problems that may occur in the vibrations of the high speed train and said:
'' A new railway line will be laid between Konya, Aksaray, Nevşehir and Kayseri to reach Antalya. The YHT project, which was previously carried out in Bursa, has also undergone changes as it passes through agricultural lands, and a direction shift was made. The same will happen in the Cappadocia Region. The new railway will naturally cause damage here. If no change is made, the SIT areas will be approached. The vibrations of YHT will also damage the fairy chimneys in the region. Problems arise because no studies are carried out by evaluating the protected sites and historical texture.
