Azerbaijan has formed working group for Res-Astara railway project

Azerbaijan formed a working group for the Reşt-Astara railway project: In a statement made by the Azerbaijan Ministry of Economy, it was reported that a special working group was created for the Reşt-Astara railway to be built in Iran.

The statement stated that the construction of the Reşt-Astara railway was negotiated with the Minister of Communication and Information Technologies, Mamoud Vaezi, as part of the official contacts of Minister Şahin Mustafayev to Iran.

In view of the importance of cooperation in the field of transport for the development of relations between the two countries, the parties discussed the preparation of the Gazvin-Rash railway and the preparation for the construction of the Rasht-Astara railway.

Gazvin-Rasht, Reşt-Astara will cross over the railways and the Astra River, and will be part of the North-South transport corridor, which will link Azerbaijan and Iranian railways.
