New route to Eurasia Tunnel

A new route plan for the Eurasia Tunnel: The final plan of the Eurasia Tunnel Project was approved. The road and intersections of the tunnel planned to be opened at the end of the year were passed through non-expropriated areas to reduce the cost

The zoning plans of the Eurasia Tunnel, which will allow vehicle passage under the Bosphorus, have been revised and suspended again. The roads of the project, which was planned to be put into service at the end of the year, were passed through areas where there is no private property due to expropriation costs. In addition, the intersections were reorganized according to the transportation to Yenikapı Square and the efforts to shift the infrastructures. Areas on the Anatolian and European sides were arranged within the scope of the zoning plans approved by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Accordingly, the planning area was determined as 55.76 hectares on the European Side and 49.58 hectares on the Asian Side, totaling 105.34 hectares. The Eurasia Tunnel will serve as a 110 km long highway that passes 5.4 meters deep under the Bosphorus. The project consists of a total of 14.6 kilometers, including the roads through which access to the tunnel is provided. The development plan change, which will remain suspended for 30 days, will be suspended on May 21, 2016.

BALANCE AND FAST TRAFFIC FLOW

With the Eurasia Tunnel, the foundation of which was laid in 2011, the travel time between Kazlıçeşme and Göztepe will decrease to 100 minutes, up to 15 minutes. Tunnel will also provide a balanced and fast transportation by sharing the traffic load of two existing bridges in Istanbul.
