Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yildirim, the subsidiaries of TCDD Directorate General of Turkey Locomotive and Engine Industry AŞ (TÜLOMSAŞ) said that last year 55 locomotives producing a historic success signature, "our country economic contribution of manufacturing in TULOMSAS facility was 346 million pounds" said.

Stating that it manufactures 1 locomotives in total per month, including 4 E 68000 type electric main line locomotives per week and 2 DE 36000 type diesel electric main line locomotives per month, Yıldırım said that the TÜLOMSAŞ factory in Eskişehir has 6 units for TCDD as of the end of last year. He stated that it has completed the production of the new generation DE 20 type diesel electric main line locomotive with high technology and also manufactured 36000 locomotives for General Electric company to be exported to Europe.
Yıldırım stated that the production of 72 E 68000 type electric main line locomotives to be used in TCDD service last year was carried out in TÜLOMSAŞ facilities, and said, “The production and marketing of these locomotives, whose license has passed to TÜLOMSAŞ, will also be made by TÜLOMSAŞ, which is affiliated with our Ministry. With the production of these high-tech locomotives in TÜLOMSAŞ facilities, a significant contribution was made to employment thanks to the works transferred to the sub-industry during the manufacturing process, and added value to our country in the economic sense as well as technological gain. With these projects, locomotives can be exported to foreign markets within the scope of technology transfer ”.

“E1000 is the first National Electric Locomotive Project. With this project, the first step in the national design of the traction system of the electric locomotive was taken for the first time in our country, and the production of our own brand electric locomotive was carried out in TÜLOMSAŞ.
With the Marine Diesel Generator Set Production Project, 8 marine diesel generator sets bearing the own brand name of TÜLOMSAŞ and produced domestically were manufactured. This generator set was installed on the country's largest ferry, landing in Lake Van.
TÜLOMSAŞ is one of the few companies in the world that produce AC motors. The domestic production of the traction motors with alternating current technology has been carried out at the TÜLOMSAŞ facilities.
The Lightened Wagon Project was completed with the cooperation of TÜLOMSAŞ, İTÜ and TÜBİTAK. With a multi-purpose, new platform wagon design, TCDD and one of the most demanded wagon types required by the logistics companies were produced.
Certified with TSI Freight Wagon Project compliant manufacturing for the first time in Turkey, the EU, the aim was to run continuously operated freight wagons in international railway lines and safe. As a result of the studies, TSI certified freight wagon and Y25 Ls (s) d1-k bogie were produced locally at TÜLOMSAŞ facilities.
