The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Kabataş-Beşiktaş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey made new arrangements for traffic flow in Mecidiyeköy due to the metro line works. According to the statement made by the municipality, due to the 3rd stage works of the Mecidiyeköy metro station, the construction area will be closed to traffic.

Temporary Traffic Circulation Project was prepared to be implemented in the direction of Şişli-Mecidiyeköy and Mecidiyeköy-Şişli for a period of 5 days starting from 23.00:410 on Saturday, March 2, within the scope of the construction works of the western concorde (entrance-exit) structure of Mecidiyeköy station. Accordingly, the partial lane narrowing in the 2nd stage of Büyükdere Caddesi between Şişli-Mecidiyeköy and Aytekin Kotil Avenue and Ortaklar Avenue will be removed. Vehicle traffic in this direction will be increased from 3 lanes to 4 lanes and the sidewalk will be increased from 8 meters to XNUMX meters.
In the direction of Mecidiyeköy-Şişli, vehicle traffic flow will be provided from Ortaklar Street to Aytekin Kotil Street on Bahçeler Street as one-way 2 lanes. The vehicles that continue on Mecidiyeköy Yolu Street will be able to reach Şişli side of Büyükdere Avenue by first passing through Geçit Street and then Abide-i Hürriyet Street through the connection under D-100 Highway. In Aytekin Kotil Avenue's Büyükdere Caddesi connection part, the traffic light arrangement will allow the vehicles to participate in Şişli direction.

Within the scope of the third stage works, the passenger underpass located under Büyükdere Avenue, which provides the transfer of metrobus and metro passengers, will be expanded and converted into a lower square. During these works, pedestrians coming from the metrobus will surface on Büyükdere Street, cross the street with a traffic light, and transfer to the subway from the sidewalk, which is 8 meters away.
Kabataş-Beşiktaş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Metro Line is 24,5 km long and Kabataş, Beşiktaş, Darphane, Mecidiyeköy, Çağlayan, Kağıthane, Nurtepe, Alibeyköy, Yeşilpınar, Veysel Karani, Akşemsettin, Kazım Karabekir, Yenimahalle, Karadeniz Mahallesi, Tekstilkent, (Depo), Yüzyıl Mahallesi, Göztepe and Mahmutbey. Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey line will carry 18 thousand in one direction and 70 million passengers per day. Mecidiyeköy station will be the most important transfer station of this metro line. This line will continue with tender preparations, 1 kilometers long, 16,75 stations, Mahmutbey-Halkalı-Bahçeşehir-Esenyurt will be integrated into the metro. The project of the line is prepared by the Transportation Planning Directorate of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and the construction of the line is carried out by the European Side Rail Systems Directorate.
