A petition on air transportation, one of the chronic problems of Bursa, was launched on change.org.
In the campaign titled “Let the air transportation problem of Bursa be solved now”, it was stated that “Despite its features to be proud of, this beautiful city still has a great transportation problem”.
Among the addressees of the campaign are the Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Recep Altepe, and the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey, Binali Yıldırım.
THE TEXT OF THE CAMPAIGN:
“Bursa is one of the few cities in the world that has achieved industrial harmony with natural beauties. It also is one of the most advanced in our crowded city of Turkey and 3-4. It has a very important historical heritage such as being the first capital of the Ottoman Empire and being on the route of the silk road. It has very important touristic centers like Uludağ. It is a very important and strategically important city like the automotive / textile industries. In addition, even in the world ranking at the 2016 World Livable Cities 37 # 1 is located in Turkey.
Despite these features to be proud of, unfortunately, this beautiful city still has a huge transportation problem. While airports are being built even in places with a much smaller population than Bursa in our country, our beautiful city has always been left in the background for many years. There is currently Yenişehir airport in Bursa, which is kilometers away from the city center and has difficulty in transportation. However, it is still largely idle, as there are not many concrete breakthroughs regarding the number of flights or transportation to the airport.
A few years ago by Burulaş, some attempts such as seaplane and helitax were carried out by Burulaş; could not be found.
We think that it is a great injustice for Bursa, which is a big industry, trade and tourism city, to keep the people of Bursa constantly dependent on Istanbul for international and mostly domestic flights.
Quality, fast and easily accessible air transport is not a luxury but an essential basic need for big cities. An air transport worthy of Bursa will contribute not only to Bursa residents but also to the development of the country's economy. "
