Local Production Electric Bus for Tepebaşı Municipality: Eskişehir Tepebaşı Municipality, by breaking a new ground, took delivery of domestic production electric buses at European standards.
As part of the 5 Million Euro grant received by Tepebaşı Municipality from the European Commission for the Smart City Project, 4 electric buses were delivered at a ceremony. 4 BUS 300 THOUSAND EURO SAVINGS WILL PROVIDE
Underlining that they made their investments by considering the future of the city as well as today's conditions, Ataç said, “While our E-Karat electric buses that we have delivered provide advantage in our costs today with energy savings, they will help us prepare a clean tomorrow for our future generations with the principle of environmentally friendly electric driving with 0 emissions. When we compare our detailed test drives with conventional diesel buses, it shows that we can save an average of 75 thousand Euros annually with a single E-Karat bus. This means a total of 300 thousand Euros per year with our four buses. Thus, the cost of purchasing electric buses will be equal to the savings we will make from E-Carats within 5 years ”.

Speaking at the ceremony, Treptow-Köpenick Assembly President Peter Groos said: “We are very happy to be here. We had a great hospitality and thank you very much for that. Eskişehir Deputy Governor Ömer Faruk Günay thanked all the municipality employees who contributed to the project and said, “I was proud as the deputy governor who coordinated energy efficiency in Eskişehir and worked on creating awareness in this issue. It is very important to generate energy by using renewable energy sources such as sun, water and wind instead of fossil fuels that harm the environment due to their use.
During the launch ceremony, E-Carat Buses were offered with a minimum mileage guarantee of 200 when fully charged, while the average 260-320 mileage could be traveled in the city. It is also stated that buses can be charged with smart mobile chargers without the need for electric vehicle stations.
Deputy Governor Ömer Faruk Günay, Mayor Ahmet Ataç and the accompanying delegation went on a city tour with the bus used by the driver Melek Ekrem after the ceremony.
