Indonesia to Buy 400 New Locomotives: Indonesian Transport Minister Ignasius Jonan announced that the country will buy 400 locomotives. The locomotives to be purchased will be produced by General Electric or Electro-Motive Diesel.
The Indonesian government plans to build a total of 2019 km railroads by 3258 as part of their plan for domestic railways. In the country, about 250 miles were built last year. The goal of 2016 is 700 km. The Indonesian government said it might require more wagons with new lines.
