Reminding that railways have been working on renovating existing lines since 2003, Yıldırım said, “We see that the road network of over 80 thousand kilometers, over 11 percent, has been renewed. These lines were lines that could not be renewed for 50-60 years. Therefore, there was no increase in freight transport. However, if we look at all 13 years, we took over with 13 million tons of transportation, and reached 26 million tons. "There has been a twofold increase compared to other areas," he said.
Stating that renewals have been made in the fields of signal and electrification in the existing lines, Yıldırım noted that the share of the electric lines, which was determined as 2003 percent in 18, increased to 2015 percent in 36 and will reach 2018 percent in 65.
Stating that the rate of signal lines was 2003 percent in 23, Yıldırım stated that this rate increased to 13 percent with 82 percent increase in the last 37 years.
Pointing out that high speed train projects continue, Yıldırım added, “As of 2015, we have completed and put into service a 213 km high speed train line. We will increase our high-speed train line to 2018 kilometers in 3 with ongoing and new projects. ”

Yıldırım stated that although the Kızılay-Çayyolu and Sincan-Batıkent metro lines were put into operation, the traffic problem continues in Ankara, and that the Keçiören metro line, which will be opened at the end of this year, will relieve the traffic.
