In addition, the number of vehicles passing through bridges and highways decreased from 150 million to 141 million. The reason for this is Marmaray. We have carried 114 million passengers so far in Marmaray ”.
Yıldırım said, “The penalties for HGS will not be suspended, we will notify every suspicious transition via SMS,” he said.
Minister Yıldırım said, “The law on liberalization of railways has been put into practice, this year will be implemented. Railways will be liberalized without privatization. Railways Signalization and TCDD Tasimacilik is divided into 2 companies ”.
Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım, stated that the ongoing and new projects will increase the speed train lines to 2018 kilometers in 3.
Minister Yıldırım evaluated how 2015 has passed in the field of transportation and communication at the press conference he held at Kule Restaurant and explained his goals for 2016-2019.
Turkey's unity, togetherness and brotherhood for the protection of the last 2016 years who wish to have a better year than the Lightning, "2015 was an election with last year. However, progress has been made in many areas for the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications. ”
“Airline traffic increased over 10 percent”
Explaining that the number of passengers carried by the airline increased by more than 10 percent last year compared to the previous year, Yıldırım said that the increase in railways, especially in the field of passenger transport, continued with the introduction of new lines.
Reminding that railways have been working on renovating existing lines since 2003, Yıldırım said, “We see that the road network of over 80 thousand kilometers, over 11 percent, has been renewed. These lines were lines that could not be renewed for 50-60 years. Therefore, there was no increase in freight transport. However, if we look at all 13 years, we took over with 13 million tons of transportation, and reached 26 million tons. "There has been a twofold increase compared to other areas," he said.
Stating that renewals have been made in the fields of signal and electrification in the existing lines, Yıldırım noted that the share of the electric lines, which was determined as 2003 percent in 18, increased to 2015 percent in 36 and will reach 2018 percent in 65.
Stating that the rate of signal lines was 2003 percent in 23, Yıldırım stated that this rate increased to 13 percent with 82 percent increase in the last 37 years.
Pointing out that high speed train projects continue, Yıldırım added, “As of 2015, we have completed and put into service a 213 km high speed train line. We will increase our high-speed train line to 2018 kilometers in 3 with ongoing and new projects. ”
“The number of vehicles passing over bridges with Marmaray decreased”
Minister Yıldırım noted that the number of vehicles passing through bridges decreased in 2015 despite the increase in Istanbul traffic day by day, he continued as follows:
"The number of motor vehicles in Turkey was based on 8 million from 20 million, but the number of vehicles passing the bridge fell from 150 million to 141 million. Marmaray opened on October 29, 2013 and has carried 114 million passengers to date. Almost 8 times the population of Istanbul. This is the explanation for the reduction in bridges. If you have enough infrastructure ready, people prefer public transport instead of their own vehicles and the traffic problem in big cities is reduced in this way. ”
Yıldırım stated that although the Kızılay-Çayyolu and Sincan-Batıkent metro lines were put into operation, the traffic problem continues in Ankara, and that the Keçiören metro line, which will be opened at the end of this year, will relieve the traffic.
