Samsun Mersin will be connected by rails: TCDD General Manager Ömer Yıldız said, "All our railway lines will become electrified in 2018".

Yıldız, who made examinations in Kırşehir where the high-speed train line connecting Samsun to Mersin will pass, visited Kırşehir Governor Necati Şentürk. Yıldız, who made a statement to the reporters here, said that the works on the Samsun Delice-Kırşehir-Aksaray-Ulukışla-Mersin high-speed train line are continuing.

COMPLETED IN TWO YEARS

Expressing that the project work has started on the Samsun side, Yıldız stated that the project preparation in the Ulukışla district of Niğde is continuing and said, “A feasibility study was sent to the Ministry of Development for the area between Delice and Kırşehir in Kırıkkale. Our projects here will start as soon as possible. We plan to complete the project in a period of 18 months to 2 years and start manufacturing. ”Yıldız stated that among the targets of 2023, there is a high-speed train line that will connect Samsun to Mersin.

Stating that the high-speed train has reached the network of 200 kilometers and the target is to increase this network to 2023 kilometers in 4, Yıldız said: “We are currently feeding from the national grid in terms of energy. In 500, all our railway lines will become electrified. In 2018, we will be consuming 2023 billion kilowatt hours of energy, together with high speed train and freight transportation. This is great energy. We will be Turkey's biggest energy consumer organization. We want to provide a significant part of our energy from clean energy, renewable energy.
