Moscow is experiencing shortage of employees to work in metro construction

There is a shortage of staff to work in subway construction in Moscow: Moscow Deputy Mayor Marat Husnullin stated that there is a shortage of staff to work in subway construction in Moscow.

Stating that the capital needs 20 thousand employees to work in the subway construction, Husnullin said, “We need serious employees. When foreign exchange prices increase, we cannot employ foreign workers from abroad. For this reason, we gather all workers and project designers from the CIS countries who can work in subway construction and understand the subway construction. We need 50 thousand employees to keep the construction tempo at this level, but our number of designers and workers working in the subway construction is around 30-35 now. ”

Husnullin pointed out that the pace of work should accelerate starting next year, ”We will build 2016 kilometers of metro lines per year starting from 20. The 20-kilometer road is about 10 metro stations. ”

Between 2012 and 2020 78 new metro stations were planned to be opened in Moscow. However, only 15 metro stations have been put into service until now, and none of them have been delivered within the specified time.

As it is known, the capital authorities envisaged opening 2015 metro stations in 8. However, only one metro station was opened in the capital. The opened "Kotelniki" subway also increased the density of only Tagansko-Krasnopresnensky subway. The opening of the "technopark" subway is expected in the coming days. All the remaining projects were postponed to next year.
