Railways will be assigned to the private sector

Railways to be Transferred to the Private Sector: The AKP government aims to sell State Railways in its Medium Term Program covering 2016-2018. Accordingly, railways will be transferred to the private sector, rail freight and passenger transport will be opened to private enterprises. According to the program published in the Official Gazette, railways will be transferred to the private sector, rail freight and passenger transport will be opened to private railways enterprises.

The reaction of the trade unions to the AKP's privatization plan was quick. Turkey Kamu-Sen connected to the Turkish Union of Transport said that it is unacceptable to customize the Chairman Şerafeddin sea railways.

Deniz said the railways employees would be most affected by the privatizations.

  1. The aim of the restructuring (liberalization) was to bring vitality and competition to the transports. What is the sale or privatization? Let's remove the monopoly of TCDD.
