According to the program published in the Official Gazette, railways will be transferred to the private sector, rail freight and passenger transport will be opened to private railways enterprises.
The reaction of the trade unions to the AKP's privatization plan was quick. Turkey Kamu-Sen connected to the Turkish Union of Transport said that it is unacceptable to customize the Chairman Şerafeddin sea railways.
Deniz said the railways employees would be most affected by the privatizations.
