The laying of the railway line, which will ease the automotive industry and the industrialists, has been started: From 2011, when the construction of the High Speed Train Line (YHT) started, the conventional line, which DDY has completely lifted at certain points, will start working again soon.
State Railways renewed the whole line with the construction of the High-speed Train Line, and in some regions removed the old lines and made two lines suitable for High Speed Train crossings. However, since the conventional line where freight trains running parallel to the YHT line could go and go was not made at the entrance and exit of Izmit Station, freight trains were only allowed to cross the YHT line between 20.00 and 06.00 in the evening. This situation made it difficult for companies that use Derince Port and other ports in the region, especially those that bring goods by sea, especially the automotive industry.
State Railways initiated work to solve this problem and unite the conventional line cut here, although it came from both directions to the entrance and exit points of Izmit. With this work that has been going on for a while, the final stage has been reached in laying the line where only freight trains can pass in parallel with the existing YHT lines. It is stated that the length of this section passing through the line in Izmit city is approximately 1800 meters including both directions, when completed, freight trains can carry freight 24 hours a day from here, parallel to the YHT line.
