İBB Kültür A.Ş. In the Taksim Metro Art Gallery named “Seyrü Sefer İstanbul from the First Ferry to Marmaray,” he exhibits photographs of transportation vehicles identified with Istanbul. Within the scope of the exhibition, the first buses of Istanbul greet visitors at the entrance of Taksim Metro.
The researcher writer Akın Kurtoğlu, who prepared the exhibition, said that IETT selectively reproduced some of the buses it has used and presented it to the public.
Kurtoğlu said, “7 buses have been produced so far under this project. The two exhibited here are Leyland and Renault, the first bus of Istanbul. The Renault bus operating on the Beyazıt-Eminönü line served Istanbul residents between 1927 and 42. The other one is Leyland buses that we and the big generations know from us. It is an urban vehicle that has worked on almost every line of Istanbul and is the subject of old Turkish movies, postcards and photographs. ”
IETT, which carries out a very fine work in the design of the buses, produced buses with 80 personality production team and remained true to the original.
The first buses of Istanbul can be seen at the entrance of the Taksim Metro until October 23, within the scope of the “Seyrü Sefer İstanbul from First Ferry to Marmaray” exhibition.
