Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects; KabataşFındıklı Park in Kabataş-Mecidiyekö-Mahmutbey acted against the conversion to the construction site for the subway and took action.
METHODS
Opposing the conversion of the park into a construction site for the subway, TMMOB members went to the park and made a press statement. Mücella Yapıcı spoke on behalf of TMMOB, which has previously attempted to stop the 3rd Bridge.
"WHAT IT HAPPENS, CANNOT BE THE SITE"
Mücella Yapıcı said, “We call out to all officials and concerned parties here. Findikli Park and Kabataş Coastal parks are not your empty land and parks cannot be construction sites for any reason. You are committing crimes against history, nature, culture and the city. Stop this unfortunate practice immediately without causing any further harm to the city dwellers, ”he said.
Trees will be planted in another place
On the other hand, it was learned that the trees in the park, which were converted to the construction site, were not cut and moved to be planted in another place.
